Nokomis is an unincorporated township 1 mile north of Venice  and 15 miles south of Sarasota covering an area of approximately two square miles.  It is a growing community with great access to the inter-coastal from Lyons Bay, Dona Bay and Roberts Bay.  You can also reach the Myakka River by boat from Nokomis via the Blackburn canal.  It has easy access to I-75 and points both North and South.

 Nokomis beach is a public county beach located on the south end of the barrier island of Casey Key and is one of the areas most popular beaches.  It features lifeguard stands, handicap ramps, picnic areas, boat ramps, and acres of white sandy beaches ideal for shark tooth hunting, shelling, fishing, swimming or surfing.  There is lots of parking and a very safe family atmosphere.

Nokomis has several great marinas where you can purchase storage for your boat like real estate - boataminiums - or just rent dockage.  Real estate in Nokomis runs the gamut of prices from $50,000 to $3,000,000 and encvompasses everything from mobile homes to condominiums, to single family homes in gated communities to lovely areas with no deed restrictions to beautiful estates.  It is one of the few areas where you can find vacant waterfront lots.There is something for every budget and having lived here for 39 years, I can hardily recommend
