I heard the sad news that Madanakalyani, a great writer who translated many French works from Thamizh & Thamizh works to Thamizh, passed away . She was instrumental in many, learning both the languages.
She had translated French writer Albert Camus's Pandemic and also the works of Balzac.
She also has the distinction of having translated Bharathiyar's works, Silapathigaram, Thamizh folk songs and Sujatha's Karaiyellam Shenbagapoo into French. She has also been conferred with many awards including Chevalier.
I pay my respects to the great writer who served Thamizh all her life!
