Governor R. N. Ravi, should not remain in his constitutional position, as he continues to speak against a State Government chosen by the people, and counters every move initiated for the welfare of the people.
We cannot tread lightly on his statements such as ' if a Governor does not respond to a Bill sent by the State Government, it means that Bill is dead'. The centre seems to be appointing Governors as their representatives, to suit their agenda.
A portion of the Cauvery Delta region which has been announced as a Protected Agricultural Zone, cannot be used for the propoised coal mining, as resorted by the Central Government.
If taking such decisions independently without consulting the State Government is a point of conflict, Governor's incessant insensitive remarks, continue to stregthen the conflict, especially on the status of Bills sent for approval.
A disturbing question arises whether the Centre is deliberately trying to amplify each and every move of the State, just to keep the people in jitters. The Governor and the Centre must understand that Thamizhnadu has seen and fought many threats to its sovereignty.
We cannot be mute witnesses to his controversial political and social opinions, constantly being placed in various public forums. The fact that he acts against our Constitutional values cannot stay ignored.
Makkal Needhi Maiam places its demand to the Centre to revoke the current Governor and appoint a conscientious Governor who wouldn't be a threat to our Constitution.
